I don't know about the rest of you, But my grandfather made and ran moonshine for thirty years in Lee, Wise and Scott County. Heck they said Lee County ran off his shine. What about the moonshiners and revenuers they could play for a 58 Chevy or something. This whole Wise County deal has had more twists and turns than the Superman roller-coaster at Six Flags I hope it is over for everyone in Wise County. (always remember it is better to ask for forgiveness than permission)

I like the idea for the Wise/Coeburn/Pound school to be Highland Mountaineers...


and for the Appy/PV/Norton school to be Coalfield Miners....

I am not big on the Minors simply because it seems like the 1st thing put out in Dc and Buchannan Co. for the names of there schools and for whatever reason it just not do it for me.........

I say go with
1) Wise Owls
2) Wise Asses (LOL kidding )
3) Wise Guys (sorry cant help myself)
3)Hellbenders (The giant salamander native to our waterways)
4) Copperheads (kind of like all the snake ideas tossed out there)

As big a fight as this whole thing has been do you think that they will try to steer clear of any school colors that are currently used (No Red/Black/Orange/Blue or Gold).....That leaves you with Green (and I am sure DC will be steering away from that color for the same reason) Purple or Yellow (Add Yellow Jackets to my list)

And, I think the only real predatory bird around here are all those blasted crows you see everywhere -- maybe Black Crowes or Ravens? "Never more, never more".

Last year I was attacked twice while mowing by two nests of yellow jackets. I live in Norton so that works for me

Those little buggers are about the meanest things I've ever had to deal with, unless of course you ever stirred up a hornets nest. Both are vicious. Either sounds like a winner to me.

you missed it earlier, I mentioned the "Blackbirds" due to all of the crows around here...

I like Black Widows but Black/Red was/is Pounds colors so it would probably not fly
